New patients referred to this Pain Center are normally given a consultation appointment within 2 weeks of receiving the referral. Before your appointment date our billing staff would have verified your insurance coverage and established the modalities that would be covered. They are also given advice on bringing previous medical records and imaging reports in a welcome letter. At the time of the visit new patients would be asked to fill out a few forms including a health questionnaire. After being checked in by a nurse the MD will put the patient through a comprehensive evaluation. After this the patient may be asked to undergo further diagnostics if needed. Pain diagnoses would be quickly arrived at and treatment modalities including medications, procedures, physical modalities and/or further referral to neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, rheumatologists, psychiatrists or neurologists would be discussed.
