Osteoporosis :

Osteoporosis is a common condition in men and women over 50 years of age. Bone is made of a protein framework of collagen cemented by calcium and phosphorus mineral complexes. Live cells in the bone help in depositing or reabsorbing the minerals throughout life leading to constant remodeling of the bone. osteoporosis results from decreased mineralization of bone or increased absorption of minerals from the bone. This leads to thinning of the bone and fractures can happen easily with little or even no trauma. Osteoporosis can be prevented or treated with good diet, activity, dietary mineral supplements and some times, medications.
